The SDSU Retirement Association is finalizing plans for its annual Kentucky Derby Party, held each year at the home of Kentucky-born and -reared Pat and Jerry Koppman.

Trish and Lew Moulton, who initiated the annual party, will serve as hosts. This year’s May 7 party will cost $20 and begin at noon. As usual, a classic Kentucky Derby buffet will feature hosted mint juleps, wine, soft drinks, Southern fried chicken, baked ham and pecan pie with all the trimmings included.

At 3 p.m. sharp, attendees will gather in several rooms around TVs to watch the 137th Run for the Roses. Attendees even bet on the horses, but the horse bet on is drawn from a hat so no one has an edge! The $1 bets are then pooled and divided between those who drew the winning horse.
