San Diego State information and decision systems professor Robert Plice has been named chair of the College of Business Administration’s Department of Management Information Systems.

Plice will assume the position as chair on August 22, in the former information and decision systems department. He replaces Bruce Reinig who will continue in his position as a professor in the MIS department after that time.

About Plice

Plice is currently professor of management information systems at SDSU and has been with the department since 2002. He earned his master’s degree in business administration from SDSU, a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Maryland and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine.

“Dr. Plice’s proven leadership, his commitment to excellence and innovation, and his dedication to his students and to the college made him the ideal candidate for the MIS chair position,” said Gail Naughton, dean of the College of Business Administration.
