Members of the University Senate condemned the continuous acts of violence against Black peoples in the resolution, which requires undergraduates earning degrees in criminal justice to take coursework on race relations, criminal justice and policing. The coursework will intentionally address violence against the Black community by those in positions of authority.
Further, the resolution directs SDSU to offer a free or low-cost course to law enforcement officers across the nation on race relations and policing.
Baxter, the popular therapy dog in Counseling and Psychological Services with his own Instagram account, recently welcomed a new sister — named Luna by a student vote.
Luna is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/poodle mix puppy who joins the university thanks to a donor’s generosity. She is living with SDSU licensed psychologist Cristina Antonucci and preparing to meet you on campus when it is safe to do so.
New Student and Family Convocation, one of the most anticipated moments for new students and families, will be held virtually this year at noon on Aug. 22.
The event, which marks the official start of the Aztec experience, is a highlight of Welcome Week, a series of events that introduce freshmen and transfer students to their fellow students and to campus culture.
The SDSU Flex Plan offers an immersive and fully engaged campus experience, no matter the modality or location, for the fall semester.
SDSU does not have enough classrooms to offer all classes in person while providing sufficient physical distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. For that reason, the university has identified more than 200 courses that have critical in-person elements and made plans for in-person and hybrid instruction. All other courses will be offered virtually.
If health and safety orders allow, the university is preparing to house up to 3,500 students on campus.
The SDSU Flex website is the source for the latest and most up-to-date information. It includes FAQs and information about campus repopulation, course offerings, student organizations and other aspects of the Aztec experience.
