40th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade

Every year, thousands of community members march down the streets of downtown San Diego to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The SDSU community, as an essential part of the San Diego region, will participate in the 40th Annual Martin Luther SDSU President Adela De la Torre, Provost, Senior Vice President Hector Ochoa, Vice President Christy Samarkos, and Chief Diversity Officer Luke Wood invite all students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families to join the SDSU delegation and march together.

Please join us in honoring one of our most prominent civil rights leaders. Celebrate the dream by participating in this annual event.

Day of the Parade

On Jan. 19, 2020, the SDSU delegation will leave for the parade from the SDSU MTS trolley Station between noon and 12:45 p.m. The last group from SDSU will leave on the trolley at 12:45 p.m.

The parade begins at 2 p.m. at the Embarcadero in Downtown San Diego. Please wear red and black to show your SDSU spirit — and comfortable walking shoes!

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade SDSU Participant Registration Form

All current SDSU students, faculty, and staff who register by the priority deadline of Dec. 23, 2019 will be guaranteed a T-shirt size and a trolley pass (students only) to the event. After the priority deadline, T-shirts and trolley passes (students only) may be available but cannot be guaranteed. The final date to register to participate in the parade is Jan. 16, 2020.

In addition, ALL participants (including guests) MUST complete the Release of Liability, which can be completed in theDivision of Diversity & Innovation (PSFA 100) until Friday, Jan. 17, at 4 p.m.
