About the Conference

WELCOME! This year’s Queer People of Color Conference aims to create a space for queer communities of color and allies to come together to engage in meaningful dialogues focused on the intersections of the multidimensional identities of queer people of color (QPOC). Attendees and presenters will have the opportunity to participate in educational workshops and/or presentations that will provide participants with tools to navigate current and future societal and institutional barriers that Queer People of Color encounter.

The 2014 Queer People of Color Conference will be held over a two day period here in San Diego, California. The first day of this exciting conference will begin at The San Diego LGBT Center in Hillcrest on May 2nd. Day two of the conference will continue at SDSU on May 3rd. The conference will have three consecutive sessions that align with the theme of this year’s conference, which is “(in)VISIBLE: Our Story, Our Life and Future".

Our Story: Recognizing the histories and [or] lived experiences that have shaped our diverse   communities and identities.

Our Life: The realities that confront us today.

Our Future: Fostering activism through community transformation
