Welcome to the resource page for SDSU Faculty and Staff.  We invite you to use these resources to discover opportunities for designing learning environments that are inclusive of all students.  The content here will provide  important information about individuals with disabilities, recommended instructional strategies in the classroom, and creating accessibility in your courses. 

Our mission at Student Ability Success Center is to provide mandated accommodations and auxiliary services to students who are registered with SASC and currently enrolled at SDSU. Your participation and collaborative efforts in providing these services is very important in furthering students' academic achievement and success.

If you have additional questions or concerns, contact Student Ability Success Center at (619) 594-6473. You will be referred to an appropriate counselor or administrator for consultation.

 

Disability Ally  

Disability Ally, formerly known as Ability Ally, is hosted by the Student Ability Success Center (SASC) and is designed to establish disability partners and advocates across the San Diego State University campus. Upon completion of the Disability Ally seminar, allies will be able to create a safe, supportive, and understanding environment for students with disabilities. In addition to supporting students who are already connected with SASC, an ally will have the knowledge to support and provide resources to students who are not yet connected with the Student Ability Success Center.
 
Disability Ally sessions are fun and interactive. The seminar will provide a variety of disability-related topics, including the accommodation process, diagnoses, the impact of labeling, and disability etiquette. 
 
Disability Ally is a two 2-hour seminar. We will have three zoom sessions and one in-person session this semester. Here are the dates with registration links for the zoom sessions. Please sign up for one session.

For Faculty and Staff with Disabilities

Faculty and staff with qualifying disabilities should contact the Office of Employee Relations and Compliance for disability-related accommodations in the workplace. If you have mobility limitations, the Office of Employee Relations and Compliance can assist with on-campus cart service (based on availability).
