Fraternity and sorority chapters at SDSU, as Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs), are required to comply with the policies and procedures outlined in the SDSU Student Organization Code of Conduct and the Student Organization Handbook.  

Unrecognized Fraternities

As part of the suspension of the Interfraternity Council and IFC member organizations instituted by President Adela de la Torre in November 2019, the following chapters have not regained their RSO status and continue to be unreocngized by SDSU. Their recognition status will be reviewed once the alleged misconduct is investigated and adjudicated.

Unrecognized Fraternities & Sororities  

Beta Omega Phi
Beta Omega Phi has not been a recognized fraternity at SDSU in nearly a decade.  However, the University has received recent reports of hazing within the (unrecognized) San Diego chapter of the fraternity.  We take this matter very seriously.  Please contact the Fraternity & Sorority Life team at with concerns about the organization or to file an incident report. 
Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity
Expulsion for a minimum of seven years effective November 6, 2017
In addition to the University sanction, the national Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity Board revoked the charter of the California Phi Iota Chapter at SDSU

Suspension through January 2022
