Senate Excellence in Teaching Award

All members of the University community are invited to submit nominations for the annual Senate Excellence in Teaching Award for the 2015-16 academic year.  One distinguished SDSU faculty member will be honored and will receive the title “Senate Distinguished Professor.”

The Senate Distinguished Professor is recognized for contributions made to students, to the respective academic disciplines and to the campus communities. The primary criterion of this award is the recognition of teaching excellence.

All nominations and associated documents for the 2015-16 award must be submitted to the dean of the faculty member's college by November 13, 2015.  Each college will forward one nominee.

All college nominees will be honored at an awards ceremony, but only one individual will receive the title Senate Distinguished Professor and will present a public lecture as part of the ceremony.
